BIOGRAPHY

Elizabeth Sharma has performed in major concert venues across Europe, including Wigmore Hall and the Purcell Room at the Southbank Centre in London, the Berliner Philharmonie, and the Salzburg Mozarteum Foundation.

During her studies, she participated in masterclasses with many eminent musicians and professors, such as Marcello Abbado, Dmitri Bashkirov, Epifanio Comis, Pascal Devoyon, Christopher Elton, Olivier Gardon, David Kuyken, Elisabeth Leonskaja, Jacques Rouvier, Dina Yoffe, among others.

Elizabeth has taken part in various international piano competitions across Europe and has been awarded several prizes in countries including Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, and her home country, Ukraine.

Among classical composers, Elizabeth has a particular affinity for Baroque music, especially the works of Handel. Her repertoire includes a broad selection of works by Mozart, Chopin, and French composers of the 20th century.

In 2018, she released a CD dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Claude Debussy’s death.

Born in Ukraine, Elizabeth received her first piano lessons at the age of four. Two years later, she entered the class of Elena Kolesnikova at the Kharkiv Secondary Specialized Music School.

In 2007, she continued her education at the Purcell School for Young Musicians in the United Kingdom, studying with Carole Presland. In 2012, she began her Bachelor of Arts degree at the Mozarteum University Salzburg in the class of George Kern. Later, she completed her Master’s degree in Piano Performance under the guidance of Cordelia Höfer-Teutsch. During the academic year 2017/18, she received an Erasmus scholarship and studied for one year at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam in the class of David Kuyken.

Since 2022, she has collaborated with the American International School in Salzburg as a guest piano teacher.

Starting in February 2024, Elizabeth also joined the Musikum Stadt Salzburg as a piano teacher.

In December 2024, she became a fellow of The Future of Teaching program, part of the Salzburg Global Seminar.

Elizabeth’s performances have been broadcast by ORF. One of the more memorable recent moments was her recital at Schloss Goldegg in May 2025, which was later streamed on Ö1.

Elizabeth currently resides in Salzburg, Austria.
